What is the difference between Allied Manufactured Wireless 2.0 and Allied Branded Wireless? Allied Electronics offers two products for Wireless TCP/IP communication: 

Allied Manufactured Wireless 2.0 and Allied Branded Wireless.  
  • The Allied Manufactured Wireless 2.0 has a yellow label. 
  • Allied Manufactured Wireless 2.0 provides the ability to Pair the Access Point and Subscriber Unit without the need for separate USB Keys.  
  • This function can be completed before shipping or via the Allied Wireless Manager Application. 
  • The Allied Branded Wireless has a white label. 
  • Allied Branded Wireless offer the same throughput power, same security, but requires physical USB keys for pairing.
What is the Allied Wireless Manager Application? This utility is provided free of charge and allows the User to pair/unpair devices without the need for separate keys.  Once the Subscriber Unit is paired to an Access Point, the signal strength and up time are displayed.
Does Allied Manufactured Wireless 2.0 work with Allied Branded Wireless?
Unfortunately, no.  
  • The Allied Manufactured Wireless 2.0 has a yellow label. 
  • The Allied Branded Wireless has a white label. 
Both products use different proprietary encryption and are not compatible.
Is this PCI Compliant?

Allied Wireless has successfully passed multiple PCI penetration tests with several large customers.  Allied Wireless does not carry a specific PCI certification because the radios do not fit any of the formal PCI test classifications as a wireless Ethernet cable.  However, all PCI best practices can be achieved or exceeded for securely transmitting network data between fuel dispensers and the store.
Do the Wireless Devices use Wi-Fi for communication?

This is not Wi-Fi.  While our wireless communications use the 5 GHz spectrum, we do not function as a Wi-Fi device.  TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) Protocol transmission is used for communication between the devices. The proprietary Network Name or SSID isn’t visible to standard Wi-Fi devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc.)
