Baseball, Cheese Steaks, and NeXGen are On Deck!
There’s no such thing as a bad day at the ballpark—or a bad day with the Allied team.
Plans for Allied’s Think Tank 2008 Technology Exchange are underway, and it won’t just be another day at the ballpark. Historic downtown Philadelphia will serve as the backdrop for the conference which will include a visit to the luxury suites at Citizens Bank Park to see the Phillies play the Florida Marlins.
Spanning two days in September, the conference will include discussions ranging from forecourt PCI Compliance to Allied’s customer testimonials. There will also be a Q&A with Allied’s engineers and system architects.
A focal point of the discussions at the exchange will be the NeXGen forecourt controller, the latest addition to Allied’s line of station site controllers. Jack Dickinson, Allied’s Manager of Engineering and Development, is eager to engage the participants in a discussion about NeXGen’s role in the forecourt. “We are hoping to have customers attend with a focus on the forecourt,” said Jack. “We feel that a number of our customers might not fully recognize some of the superior benefits NeXGen offers them—everything from true remote diagnostics to a security roadmap for EMV and PABP for pay at the pump. Think Tank is the perfect opportunity for a face-to-face discussion on the forecourt, their needs, desires and vision for the future.”
Software Engineer Rob Tomenchok will speak about the virtues of the Allied Communicator Object and software development kit. “Think Tank 2008 will be an excellent opportunity to showcase the ease with which the Communicator object can be used to integrate the ANDI and NeXGen Forecourt Controllers with your application,” said Tomenchok. “Bring a laptop with your development environment and we’ll set up the basics right then and there. Within a few minutes you will see how quickly and easily the communicator will plug into your application.”
Technical Project Managers Paul Box and Mike Vogt are putting together the itinerary for the technology exchange as well as the “extracurricular” activities.
“I think one of the most interesting topics of discussion will be about PCI compliance,” said Paul. “Our lead architect for PCI, Lou Seitchik, will be leading the discussion about how PCI has affected Allied, our customers, and the entire forecourt.”
A lunch break at the historic Reading Terminal Market will no doubt quell the hearty appetites of those yearning for a Philly cheese steak, soft pretzel, or some fresh baked Amish goods.
A guest speaker from Warren Rogers Associates, Tom Nielson, will be on hand to discuss the company’s new PetroNetwork S3 product with conference participants.
Discussions will also be held with regards to Allied’s parts department as well as power conditioning equipment.
Jack Dickinson looks forward to the reaction and response of the attendees. “As we receive feedback from others, it can help all of our users with tackling new marketing opportunities and technical challenges,” he said. “We feel that the collection of thoughts and ideas will help us develop a robust and bullet-proof offering.”
Reservations are still being accepted to Think Tank 2008 but space is limited to invited customers of Allied Electronics, Inc.
