Class is in Session

Class In SessionAllied’s Webinars and TSBs Prove Popular
It’s autumn and that means it’s time for folks to head back to school, including many of Allied’s customers and vendors. Seeing a need to offer “refresher” courses on everything from the popular ANDI_DGS utility to basic NeXGen and ANDI troubleshooting skills, Allied’s technical support group began conducting hourly Webinars held on a weekly basis.

State of Shock

State of ShockSurprised by the amount of protection needed in the forecourt? Why?
It seems as though wherever one turns, protection is being sought in some form or another. Parents want to protect their children. Employees want to protect their jobs. Beachgoers want to protect their skin from UV rays. The federal government wants to protect banks and CEOs.

Did You Know?

Did You Know? Al Magro began his career in the petroleum industry way back in June, 1973 as a pump technician for Bayard Pump & Tank. At that time, Allied’s tech support group was in its infancy, literally: Jack Dickinson and Bob Danford were a year old growing up in Philadelphia. Paul Box was only a month old and Mike Vogt wasn’t even born yet. Al has been with Allied for over 30 years and is currently a sales representative. He is often called upon for his vast knowledge of legacy systems as well as power and data line protection.

Tech Support’s Tip of the Day

Tech TipFor redundancy purposes, one can re-assign ports on the NeXGen controller especially in the event of a suspected port failure on a NXG unit.

It is important to note that the NXG ports are designed specifically with certain communication protocols in mind. For example, some ports are RS232 while others may be Current Loop, RS485, or 12 Volt Serial Interface. What needs to be understood when employing the port assignment function of ANDI_DGS is that ports supporting different protocols are NOT interchangeable.

For more assistance, please contact Allied’s tech support group or read the TSB “ANDI_DGS Port Assignment Function” on the Website.
Fun Fact
Fun Fact

Those leaves that fall off the trees this time of year are really red, yellow, orange, and brown all year long; we just can't see it! The intense green pigment of chlorophyll actually blocks the pigments of the other colors. You could say that the other colors are "invisible." In the autumn, red, yellow, orange, and brown become visible and bright when the green chlorophyll weakens before the leaf falls off the tree.
